How perfect do joists have to be??

    Hi all,

Just started to insulate between joists ahead of screwing down 18mm Ply...plus 6mm flooring ply...then VG Karndean.

I know I need to sister up a couple of joists close to a sliding door to make up about 10mm in height and bring them to the rest of the joists...however when checking it out with a 6ft level across the rest of the joists, I get the odd joist that sits 2-3mm lower than another. As shown in image with shim.

Now I'm pretty sure that the gap could change somewhere along the length of the joists ...up or down..
Do I need to do anything here or just leave it to the sheets of ply averaging it all out and the floor guy using some sort of filler?

    Cheers

I imagine once the 24mm of ply sits on top and is screwed down I don't think a 2-3mm drop will notice over the space of the joists. I'm no professional and have never had to work on joists so don't take my word for it! Looks like you have done a nice job there

    Thanks FloorCcandles,

If anyone else can advise, that would be good as I'm back on it next weekend and would love to get it right....cheers.
