Got a customer wanting lvt new concrete floor 2 weeks old was going to use a moisture suppressant then 1200 as the floor is effectively still wet, any of you guys do anything different?
Yep! Leave the concrete for at least another 2 weeks as it needs time to cure (and shrink basically). Also depends on the reading you got if a MVS will be good enough. An epoxy might eb required as it depends how much water the builder put in his mix as well as site conditions etc etc etc
I'd defo leave it another couple weeks minimum then get the readings off it but being that soon still I'd use an epoxy regardless.
2 weeks are too soon. If is sand and cement is easier.I will leave 4 weeks, open windows (helps),will grind the floor first and Ardex MVS 95. When is pumped concrete is a bead slower drying process. You need to use Ardex primer p151 i think it was and the same process. I will recommend Ardex Na to be secure or Ardex GL is smoother. Thanks and good luck. www.birminghamfloors.co.uk
Standard curing time for a normal concrete screed is 28 days before moisture tests can be carried out and then correct preparation and floor coverings can be laid but some new types of screeds act and cure different to standard Portland cement types so best to find out exactly what your dealing with and speak to the manufacturer for advice if possible
As spacey's says, if you go on it before the 30 days it's possible slab could crack and break the dpms integrity, and going in that early will have a load of moisture still in it so will fail pretty quick in that scenario
