Anybody on here able to give me some tips on fitting lino (marmolium) up the cove? I've worked with this product loads in the past but its always been on the flat where it's been templates and scribbing. Any tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I've suggested picture framing it mate but its hospital work and infection control want to keep the joins and welding to a minimum. I also mentioned using hospital skirting but that's a perimeter weld as well so cove formed it is. My biggest concerns the internals..... help!!!!!

Hmm, at least it will be warm.
Forbo make there own hospital cove/skirt, but will still need welding.
    Swerve it

I would call Forbo, and ask there advise. If they have a course running, and you could get on it, it would be worth it.
Most guys I know dont want to touch lino, let alone coved, so if your good, I rekon there would be a market for it

I'll give them a call tomorrow. Job kicks off on Monday so training might be 2 late. Tried looking for videos on YouTube but doesn't seem to be any covering up the cove lino!

I've always just templated it tbh, and only fold down the length when you glue it to stop the length shrinking. Ive done it in hospitals a fair bit so its always nice & warm.

Paper template. They make corner templates and T shapes scribes or you can make your own. Forbo use to do a free 1 day course on it

Paper template with T & kite square corner templates is the only real way to do it properly Weld on a low heat and really slowly
It's time consuming and a pain in the arse

Guys thanks for your input. Got a hold of a retired fitter this morning who's prepared to come out and do a week on the tools with me and show me a few ways to do fit it professionally... panic over

warm it up from the back when it goes up the wall, template, and when you groove out to weld go all the way to the hessian your not really welding you are filling the groove with the weld, if you dont you will wonder what the hell is going on because it wont stick

Cut a corner about a foot square in vinyl use that as a template bit more flexible than a metal cove template and can take odd bend in wall but it is a pain coving Lino picture frame if possible

Template and cut a square piece of vinyl fit a corner then use that piece for templating internals or ya can buy an internal metal cove template but the vinyl temp is better because ya have a little bit of play if corners out
