Hi guys I've just bought a custom printed carpet as a present for my father. It looks great, but is very thin (like maybe 2-3mm), gel backed, and also in 1.8m wide strips (for a 3.6m wide room). I accept there's going to be a line down the middle of the room (price of having a custom print), but what I wanted to know is - can I improve the feel of it by having it laid over an underlay, or is that just a no go ? I know gel backed is meant to be stuck to the floor, but I wondered if there were any other options at all. Thanks very much Scott
You could always double stick.stick underlay all over ,and then stick carpet to underlay. Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Is there any particular type of underlay that will/wont work like that? Or can I just get a really good one and go with that? Thanks for the reply too.
I would look at a crumb rubber if your going to use underlay as it’s very dense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks all. I had a professional come round and double stick some cloud 9 and the carpet. Looks great
