Customer want stair rods on Portlands stone staircase, but does not want holes drilled.
Has anybody successfully fitted the brackets by any other methods?

Flexi fix/sticks like turbo would do the job I bet

No matter what you do you’re going to knacker the stone, I’d explain the other solutions are just as destructive but not as solid.

I'd not do that job personally, that is an accident waiting to happen or a customer complaint in the pipeline, why cover a Portland stone staircase, you would need to stick underlay/and/or/carpet so will 'damage' it regardless.

My mate had one where a 10 grand solid oak staircase went in, started moaning when they gripped for full width fluff as didn't think they would need to make holes!, why get a 10 grand staircase covered? It's a centrepiece for the house and to be admired as is

The bond strength of Flexyfix is greater than Stick Like

Yeah I found that aswell but flexi tends to not last as long when you only use half a tube whilst turbo stays alive for ages in the tube

It lasts for months in an open tube if you put the cap back on after use. Worst case use a nozzle off another tube.

Take the nozzle off and put a bit of polythene over the end and screw nozzle back on . When you want to use it just replace the nozzle .

Then you must be waiting weeks between using it because after two/three weeks I would expect no more than a small plug of cured adhesive that can be picked out and then you just carry on using it..

Probably up to 2 to 3 weeks sometimes, tube goes rock hard... I've used the screw nozzle off one of my turbo's and swapped it over to a flexi few times and same thing happened.

I've had the turbos for well over a month or 2 and it's still useable after picking out the tiny plug out.
Quite a few of the lads down the trade counter have said same aswell.
I get on well with the turbo for what I need to for and there is a good promotion on it at the min.
If I have stair nosing jobs then I tend to use flexi or turbo, never had issues so far.

That simply shouldn't happen, the chemistry doesn't support it.
DM me your details I'd love to talk to you about this maybe run a test and I'll throw in some free Flexyfix for your time.

Tbf I’ve never had a problem with flexi going off. Always just pull the plug out the end and it’s fine

No surprise there because Fleyfix is considerably stronger and faster than Stick Like Turbo.
