No offense intended, I'm just being straight up. Hope you dont have to come that point though but in this game we've seen it many of times I'm afraid
No worries, my reply was slightly tongue in cheek. I'd rather get straight answers than a pat on the hand and "Everything will be fine, dear chap". Forewarned is forearmed, though I wish I'd known this before the fact. When the oppos arrived, they just said thy were using a different DPM than was originally planned, but I naively assumed they were replacing it with something equivalent or better. I've learned a lot from being on this forum, albeit only for a few weeks. Here, and from past experience, it never fails to astound me how easily people compromise on foundational work that, if it subsequently goes belly up, has much larger consequences (the sub-floor of my whole ground floor being the embodiment of "foundational work"!). New kitchen is going in next week, for example. If the DPM does fail, reinstating it is much more than just rolling on another layer of the right stuff. Grrrr.
I’ve laid loads over the years without a dpm and got away with it. Lucky now I only do it correct or don’t do it.
