That wont repair! That's really rough, you need them back to that.

There's a difference between picky and expecting a minimum standard,it's a floorcovering, the minimum it should do is cover the floor

I bet the fitter cut that and convinced himself he'd get away with that :D that takes the 'urine'!!

Anybody can make a mistake, i could even understand if he had tried to bodge it to try and make it look right, but to be happy to just leave it looking like that, suggests that he just didn't care

Well a update, after them saying "oh we shall have to find out why they left the job like that etc" they asked if I had enough spare to replace that piece.. that I do.. But that piece is part of the stairs so its one piece from top to bottom and now they want to just pull the bottom front step off and replace with a single piece. Am i in the right in saying I want the whole stairs bit redone, not just a bodge repair at the bottom?

The bottom step is often done in a separate piece

It’s shoddy. It can be done in one piece it’s how I do it in one. Looks neater imo

Newest update: They are coming to replace that section, all good just they are request to use my cut offs that I had left over. Don't know if I should just let them use it or say it was their mess up use your own?

Thank you for everyone's advice on this, i'm really not confrontational at all, and nearly everything we have had done to our home has ended with a bad job.
