Help need advice

I have pulled up a ripped vinyl floor in a wet room where i work. Some of the chipboard underneath was ruined so had to be pulled up as well. I dont have any chipboard lying around but i have mdf would it be ok to use mdf to patch the hole before laying new floor?

 

MDF is like a sponge, I wouldnt be using that.

 

Marine ply would be better than chipboard.
Dont use mdf, its not suitable

 

Agreed with neilydun. If the chipboard isnt too wet or damaged it maybe left to dry and 6mm wbp ply could be laid over.
