Hello all, I need some help with a parquet wooden floor.

We have recently moved into a house with a wooden parquet floor.

I’m not sure what the wood is but it looks like solid wood but not sure if it may be engineered wood.

The wood tiles are laid on a concrete surface and has been laid with a thick black substance.

On the reverse of the blocks it is stamped: Made in Thailand and has a diamond shape with TTP in it.

The problem is, while doing building and decorating works, I’ve had Corex sheet protection down over the tiles for a long period and at one time, doing some plumbing I flooded the area. I removed the Corex and dried it up quickly and put the Corex back down but now suspect I should have left it up as I later found the tiles lifting under the Corex.

It is all dry now but a lot of the tiles are loose and some have larger gaps between than others as if they have shrunk slightly.

I am wondering, before I re-lay them should I rub floor oil into them in the hope it can revive them.

Any advice on what to do and what materials to use would be a great help.

    Cheers.

You have stopped them breathing which is what a wood floor needs to do.
Best get a pro in to do a repair.

Yes I realised they have dried out but I was hoping to get advise on any possible treatment available such as oil or wax etc which I could apply to the wooden blocks to revitalise and possibly plump them up?
