Should we be entering customers houses to fit their carpets at this time of virtual lockdown or not and if so under what circumstances. I am confused and the advice doesn't seem easy to come by.
I've just made decision to think about my family rather than doing pointless flooring that at the end of the day is for decoration. Going broke is better than killing your child Sent from my Mi A3 using Tapatalk
Totally agree it's just my customers that don't and seem to want me to work. I have a 4and 7year old and our oldest would be 9 in October so I certainly don't wish to risk anyone but one minute they are saying 2metres is ok, and you should only travel for work, my customer insists they won't stay in though where they would go for the day I don't know. Is that safe if they remain out for the day and I can work unimpeded? I currently err on the side of caution and have refused to go but my customer is adamant and of course owes me a fortune. Like you say the money isn't the issue but am I being overcautious?Cheers
The virus is known for cross contamination so although customer goes out u and your clothes etc could still be the issue i suppose I relate this to the poor russian and his daughter who was poisoned a while back and remember how that managed to kill and hospitalised others for months. Customers need to be aware u could be carrying more than just your tools. Anyway best wishes with your future work and remember stay safe Sent from my Mi A3 using Tapatalk
It’s simply. We don’t understand this virus. That’s why you haven’t been given clear advise. I personally don’t think it’s worth going in mainly for the sake of the nhs. I don’t think we will shut down construction as it’s so important Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tradesmen are not classed as a necessity at the moment, i know financially it's not good, but every time you come into contact with someone else, you are putting yourself and others at risk, is it worth it? And if you think of it as doing your part to stop the virus and everyone else did the same, the lockdown would be over sooner
We've spent all day phoning customers just to make sure they're aware we won't be coming, most were fine and understood, but a couple didn't see any reason why we shouldn't, we even had customers phoning us to say another firm couldn't fit their floor, so could we do it instead
Financially it hurts but I’d rather be healthy and alive to earn the money again in a few weeks/months! Just stay at home and catch up on some DIY or get your accounts ready to file or plan some new marketing to come back even stronger...
Done a wet room today and doing one tomorrow. No one about on the jobs and have to be done as disabled people live in the house and will need a shower room. other jobs we have delayed till allowed back 3 weeks or more. I shut my shop Monday morning.
