Has anyone been directly affected yet ?
All of our work at the moment is London based, and I have heard that some sites may be closing up, but nothing definite.
One job is in an active hotel and its gone from being at 95% capacity to next to no one there now.
I can see a lock down on its way soon, but if that happens how long for ?

We were on a job in Ruislip over the weekend, which is right next to an Asda where we have been getting our lunch.
Yesterday and today were mad. Shelves are stripped, and getting out of the car park took about 15 mins....
WTF is the bog roll thing about ?

No idea, as far as I can make out. The last week or so constant crap online about toilet roll running out. Next thing you know everyone’s buying it!

Heard today that all our future projects, including ones we have orders for have been put on hold.
It also looks like a project we are working on in London will now be closed from Friday. Tools and materials out job.
Thats going to leave 7 of us out of work
    Bad times ahead....

    Nightmare ain't it.
The amount of materials I have ready for jobs commencing is stacking up, just hope I get chance to use it so I can get paid. Not on the scale of yours though Neil being yours is the big commercial jobs

I had to order a load of Amtico today for a job that I'm doing in 6weeks (refurb, no occupants) just incase they shut up shop to.

This is all getting very to real by the day.
Before we know it, alot of people closer if not ourselves will suffer from this sh**y virus.
Numbers are going up, we'll be up there with Italy & spain at this rate and it's a very daunting feeling.

So, we have continued working, as 2 sites I mentioned before, have remained open, and government guidelines say construction work continues.
One of the sites, is the hotel I mentioned in an earlier post.
Its all go down there at the moment, as its been taken over by the NHS to house the staff from Nightingale Hospital.
There saying it may be occupied as soon as Monday, and we have no way to install floors before then, as other work is being carried out.

On a lighter note, i`ve lived with horrific broadband forever.
Our max speed has been about 1mb sometime 1/2 that.
Fibre has been at the pole at the end of my neighbors garden for about 6 months, but unavailable until 2 weeks ago.
I had to fit the box and drill a hole for the cable, as BT are not allowed in any residence at the moment, but its up and running
    175mb BOOM !
Now I might be able to stream stuff, while I sit indoors for 12 weeks

Not wanting to appear negative, but behind all of the Government's initial positive propaganda of cracking this problem in 12 weeks, their postponement of MOT's for a period of 6 months, I think reveals their true expectations of the time it is likely to take for things to get back to some manner of normality.

I think the next 12 months will be pretty much written off.
On the bright side I often drive a xlwb Crafter, so an Ocado wagon should be a breeze !
