    Is anyone still working.
Even though we have works which could be completed safely, all my wholesalers are closed up.
I can get product direct from manufacturers but wholesale stuff is a none starter.
Only bonus is the weather I suppose.

I have a few jobs where it just requires labour, but I’m not entering anyone’s household just yet. Maybe in a few weeks practicing social distancing, but I think for now we all need to do our bit.

Not me. Couple wholesalers doing collection only but most of them are doing Nhs and government only. Think it will be another 3 weeks at least?

I really don’t know mate, I can only see a trickle back. Can’t see public transport and shops getting better for a few months but hopefully deliveries will be a bit more normal

I'm going to give it another 2wks and access it then but it's not looking good at all with regards to main suppliers, I get it that we have all got to do our bit and totally agree but I just cant adhere to this that we cant work in our own surroundings without others present and being at risk.

I got materials ready for a big domestic job but I'm 50/50, I want and can go ahead and do it but I dont want to put my family or myself at risk as this job will be occupied even though they have said they'll go ghost whilst I'm there.

I imagine some of us have paid out for materials out our own pockets and need to be paid still.

Dont think I can stick this for another 3 to 4 weeks and even then who's saying it'll be that, could be alot more.

I’m not working. It’s painful but my wife and I decided it just wasn’t worth the risk to the family. Maybe in a bit I’ll start thinking about it but for now I’m tools down and enjoying some time at home.

Yeah I must admit I am enjoying the time off, getting stuff done in and around the house is great to have the chance at last but the longer its got I'm struggling from not actually grafting, makes coming home that bit more special.

My home gym is getting more use now though :D

Ive been ticking over doing a couple of emty houses. Following the rules, gloves, masks, 2m distance. Got one wholesaler who can get me stuff but its only cheap end. Thats going to come to a stop soon. This is in for a while if not full lock down.
    Take care lads

At least most of the work will still be there when we do go back, i 'm just a bit concerned about how work will be after the initial catch up rush

Thats a real worry. We have just completed 2 projects with a 3rd to about 90%, and im about 100k out at the moment.
I took a call from the owner of 1 of the fit out companies, who said he can only pay 15k at the moment, and will hopefully be able to pay the rest soon.

Another worry is we had pretty much completed all the projects we were working on, and had around 10 tenders out, with 3 confirmed wins.
My guess is when things get back to semi normal these projects will now be shelved, as the cash will be needed elsewhere.

100k ouch  I can only imagine that is not a nice feeling at all especially when they can only afford 15k of it for now. I panic when a customer stalls on a couple of grand alone, is there any type insurances for your situation Neil?

Its true what you saying, this will cause so much disruption that some wont make it out the other end which is sad. So many businesses have sunk already.

I could probably use a factoring company, I just never have.
Im hoping they will come through. Most of the companies I work for, I have built up a good level of trust with, so I am hopeful they will come through.
The 15k came through this morning on a/c so at least they were truthful about that

I think most are doing this now. I know Sts have a couple of branches open for collection or delivery to site.
C&F are open for pre arranged collection, and some Headlam branches are too.
Im back next week, in an empty hotel. About 360m of carpet, which I have to collect.
