Hi all, Bit of a long shot but I had a full house carpet renovation due flood damage. The builder instructed his fitter to measure up and asked me to go in and choose my carpets.. I wanted Wilton as I'd had them down for the previous 10 years, he tried to steer me away from them but I was adamant. Long story, but he kept ringing me saying he could not get the carpet delivered from Belgium and did I want to choose something else... I happened to call into another shop and the lady said as far as she knew they were made in Wales... So I rang Wilton and low and behold they are. I wanted to change the fitter but the builder said he would not guarantee the other people's work so in the end the guy said he had the Wilton and would fit it. 12 months later and I'm unhappy with a few areas and I wanted to ask people's thoughts on the following image. Thanks in advance
Certainly looks like Abingdon backing or Wilton Royal' as they like to call themselves now but 100% not a conventional wool Wilton backing more like polypropylene tufted as said above.
Thanks for the replies guys... I didn't trust the guy at all but felt hemed in... It was supposed to be a Wilton so sounds like it possibly could be.. Cheers
Hi Guys, So of this isn't a Wilton as it should have been, what kind of recourse do I have? I have contacted abigondon to ask them. It was replaced through my insurance company and due to the renewal quote I moved away from them in December last year. A builder was assigned to the job and he is in kahoots with the fitter. Thanks
