I’ve always used a hacksaw to cut door bars but the better quality ones (stairrods prems especially) seem to destroy the blades in now time at all.

Does anyone use anything else to cut bars?

Or what blades are people using. I’ve always boot fine tooth ones 32tpi as years ago someone said they were better (and I’ve never really found otherwise until I’ve been fitting more and more of the prem bars)..

Be interested in what everyone else is using as tool wise I’ve realised I’m rather stuck in the 90s

For the prems/steel trims/nosings I always use my chop saw. Hand sawing prem bars gives you a good pump though :D

If it's only a couple, i use a hacksaw, but if I've got a few to do, or nosings and mitres, i use a chopsaw

For some reason I think some hacksaws are just better than others. Don’t know if it’s the tension or what. We have 3 of them but 1 in particular seems to cut better than the other 2

I always thought a hacksaw was just a hacksaw, I'd been using the same one for over 30years, then i bought a new one a couple of years ago and the difference was huge

I've got a grinder chopsaw much nicer cut on expensive bars.
