    Hi!

I'm in a new build flat (2nd floor), and due to a botched flooring job by the builders i'm looking at completely replacing the current floating laminate floor (builders will be compensating me for this).

I was wondering if generally-speaking, glue-down LVTs were worse for noise transmission than floating laminates or even floating LVTs?

I'm not really keen on carpeting my living room and kitcken, or getting wood. My local fitter is pretty keen on the glue-down LVTs, and due to the issues i've had with my laminate floors drifting apart i'm wary of floating floors.

I really don't want to have to rip up any new flooring that is installed due to noise complaints. Generally speaking, the noise insulation is great in this building, and i rarely hear anyone.

Stick down lvt will be better than laminate for sure and if the noise travel isn't that bad like you say then LVT would be my choice. Whole lot flowing through

Do you think this is better than LVT for sound insulation? I think LVT is my preference, have about 30 samples in the house, but haven't really had a good look at laminate options yet.
