I have a room which has a suspended first floor timber floor. The joists are 600mm apart and span about 2m. The flooring is 22mm chipboard.

On top of this, but not directly on a joist is built a stud wall going in the same direction as the joists.

The floor has dropped under the stud wall by about 6mm (in the middle of the span), not a lot I know but enough so that walking on it causes the floor to ride up and down.

I have laid laminate flooring in the room, added double layer of foam underlay(5mm) but there is considerable amount of flex near the wall.

What would be the best way to level the floor? I have been told the chipboard can't be cut as there is no supporting joist under the wall.

    Thanks

I should also mention that the gap under the stud wall was filled with plastic shims to stop chipboard floor from moving.

How big is the room below it? Sorting it out from below might be an option, plying underneath, supported by doubling up the joists, you would just need to get a price on the ceiling repair first, to see if it's worth it
