Asphalt flooring solution

I'm thinking of removing my lounge chimney breast and was wondering what the best thing to do with hole in the floor it will leave as its asphalt, do I need to get it totally redone or is there an easier way, I understand that the asphalt is providing a dpm.

 

Fill with ardex NA then use a liquid Dpm over it.
