Fitted a H/S/L carpet {domestic - supplied by F---ks Carpets – big retail chain - £13 S.Q.M plain twist} for a friend. On installation, realised carpet backing is of very low quality. Worked from top down installed a 13 step flight – mallet/stair tool - `drum tight`. However, there is slight puckering on the treads, any solutions, or is this the `nature of the beast`? Any one else have similar issues and would carpet gripper on the sides of the treads, near stringers work. Advice appreciated.
You should be able to stretch it out by grippering the side of the treads and risers and possibly a firmer underlay
