    Hi All,

Decided on Vivendi Soul to carpet the whole house. Was looking at Vibes as was worried Soul would go flat up stairs quicker as its a longer pile version of the Soul.

Would this Soul still be on stairs and landing as i would ideally like 1 carpet to flow throuhout?

In regards to Underlay, would 10mm be ok? I am looking at either Cloud 9 super contract (10mm) , Connisseur (10mm) or Caviar and Crystal 9mm on stairs and landing and 10mm everywhere else.

What would be the best underlay to pair with this carpet. Ideally want to make sure it supports and looks after the carpet but also feels nice underfoot.

I was looking at Tredaire Colours Red and then Green or Elite on stairs or landing but been talked out of it by carpet shops?

If i went with 10mm underlay, would it be worth getting g9 grippers??

    Thanks in advance.

As Merit has said. Caviar and Crystal 9mm everywhere will be fine and save messing with different grippers and a slightly different feel from the stairs and landing to adjoining areas.

I was thinking 10mm super contract or conniseur for thr whole house. Would that be better than 9mm cav and crystal?

Similar in fairness. The 10mm is pretty much the same as the 9mm. Super contract is, surprisingly, contract rated. I’ve not used it but the 8mm is good.

I think it’s lower but it’s also a different material so the comparison isn’t always that easy.

Caviar & Crystal and Connoisseur are all 176KG/M3 for density, Contract 8mm is 167 KG/M3 and Super Contract 10mm is 166KG/M3.

Any reason why the Conn 8 over the others or just personal choice?

Just personal choice to be honest, 8mm mainly for the denser stuff and loops then 10mm with the twists/saxonys.

Have several rolls of the super contract from a job that got cancelled that I still need to use.
