Hi, I am getting sheet vinyl fitted in my kitchen and hallway, and the fitter said he does not seal around the edges with silicone as standard, and that it costs extra. So my question is; Is it essential to silicone around the edge in a kitchen or hallway?
If it’s cut tight there’s no need. Personally I think it should be siliconed in wet areas. On a building site the floor layer doesn’t do the silicone, a mastic man does. Most flooring firms can offer the service but not many are as neat as a mastic man. It’s all preference really and how good a finish you want Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks, sorry for late response been a bit hectic trying to sort everything. I guess kitchen would be a wet area so will ask for it in there.
