Hi All, Advice please. We had a 60m2 Karndean (Van Gogh) floor fitted yesterday (our third Karndean floor over the years). There are 4 or 5 bad cuts etc which I know can be redone. The issue we have is with gaps between the actual boards. We did not have this with the other previous 2 floors. Same fitter has fitted it. You can see these black gaps in daylight and they stand out a mile under the downlights at night. He is due back tomorrow and I was trying to enquire what options there are to sort the gaps out between the boards? Just so I have some prior knowledge before he visits. Advice appreciated. Tried uploading pictures but unable to for some reason.
Some van Gogh is not cut/made very well. We had this on a job recently. Did the main house in one colour and it all went together perfectly. Did the annex in a different colour and it had gaps everywhere. Could be another issue with prep or fitting but Karndean quality is very inconsistent Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You can do over the gap with a pointed tool like a bradawl or a centre punch. That will close the gaps a bit. Should of been pulled in tight when fitted really. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
All sorted. The 5 cuts redone and perfect. The gaps were sorted by using a bradawl, so easy. Was worrying about this but the lads sorted it and the floors look beautiful. Why when you have stuff like this fitted do you not perhaps get a guide to show it works and how to rectify issues? I thought the gaps would be a major issue when in fact it wasnt at all.
Hopefully they don’t come back. Problem with vinyl is it shrinks. Eek Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
