Hi all, flooring novice. Ripped up floor in ground floor of house with intention of replacing tiles with laminate. However screed layer wasn’t in a great state and came up too in parts. Ended up pulling it all up. Concerned about damp as room was once the garage (previous owners converted it) so have painted two layers of black jack dpm. Now need to re-screed it but unsure if I need to use a primer -sbr/pva and if so are any not suitable to use on top of bitumen based dpm. Also any advice on best floor levelling compound to use for someone who hasn’t done it before. I have got a paddle drill at my disposal. Any advice much appreciated!

Use a grit primer on the DPM or sand blind the DPM before it dries ! Definitely not PVA or slurry

Use ardex NA or ardex CL
Bostik ultimate would do as cheap and a latex
