Hi, I am looking for some advice as I will be installing glue down LVT for the first time. It's in a large(ish) kitchen/diner with bifold doors. Due to this I will be using F49 adhesive. I think i'll go with Ployflor Camaro Sienna Oak as funds are tight but from reading the forum it seems like a decent product. The adhesive data sheet states that a 68kg roller should be used. They are incredibly expensive to buy (especially for only one job) so would a multi wheel hand roller be suitable if used with a lot of force? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Chris
You’ll need that roller, check if there’s any going on eBay. Most importantly make sure your prep work is bang on before starting and don’t cut a single corner or it’ll bite you in the arse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Your brave..... I'd suggest forgetting the f49 Its a two part mix with a limited pot life You'll more than likely waste more than goes on the floor and its not cheap. Dry fit the floor first ie no adhesive Then pull up and glue in manageable sections Use a wet set HT adhesive Lay the planks in almost immediately then a hand roller will be perfectly sufficient
Would you really need a roller ? Why, I never use one ? So long as the adhesive transfers whats the problem ? A cork board applies enough pressure for about a tenner.
Thanks for the advice, I suppose brave is one way to describe it For a wet HT adhesive would Ukin KE 66 be suitable? Cheers
It’s in manufacturer destructions and you know how they like to weasel out of it if there’s a problem, you can hire one for about £30 for the week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ive got one. Rusty, and buried in my container. Never saw the need for one, expect for Supacord maybe. I just find they scratch lvt and create more bubbles in sheet. Maybe for Lino, but a cork board is better I think
I can't be arsed most times to put my rusty ass roller on the van so end up rolling my hand in the wet adhesive. Do need to get another roller though with the transport wheels then I'd use it alot more
Hi, This is probably a silly question but how do you use the cork board, do you lay it over the flooring and then use a hand roller over the top? Cheers
You just push it across the floor, applying downward pressure. With Lvt it will just make sure the adhesive has properly transferred.
I used F49 other week first time and I rolled it with 68kg roller and had 2 cheeky planks lift slightly, tad f+cked off having to go back. Thinking of trying KE49 HT.. verdict guys? Plus anyone used much the Amitco Pressure sensitive?
Ke49 and 66 is my 2 main stock but have been using the new fball 58plus which is very good so far. I havnt used amticos PS in years so can't comment.
Dealing with the same problem with a job at the moment, qs lyvin fitted on ke49, full bungalow, 3 fitters doing different rooms, every single plank has shrunk massively
