Which product would you recommend? That would adhere carpet gripper to ASHPELT – that wont react with the sub-floor months later and peel up – without any nails BASHED in - breaching DPM. Thanks.

    Hi Dazlight,
thanks for replying, however, checked application and its unsuitable for ASHPALT! I usually drill & plug {1" screws} gripper : time consuming, but method doesn't smash sub-floor - unlike some COWBOYS who compromise the DPM, after smashing masonry nails in. Any more suggestions appreciated.

Ha sorry, bit of a joke just to see if anyone remembered. Its old school 2x part mix it up in a cup deal.
Will Gripfill not do it ? Ive not found much it won`t bond to.

:D......... N.I.C.F. Course Instructor informed me NO product exists {20yr ago}. Apparently, adhesives like Gripfill loose their `bond` after a few months!

Doesn't drilling and plugging the asphalt compromise its dpm properties?

I've used gripfill to asphalt many of times and never had issues with it lifting. I used vinyl spray glue then a good bead of flexy, fitted nextday. I know some say don't use spray glue but it's all I had...

Been back to the house before summer to trim and stretch the carpet back in after they pulled it up one side to change the fireplace. I fitted the carpet back in 2017 originally and when I did go back before summer none of the gripper rods had lifted/broke free

Sorry, I meant good bead of flexy is what I'd use now instead of gripfill

I’ve used green gripfill for years. Providing you prime the floor, it’s not going anywhere!
Flexy fix is great too. So is the f ball stuff
