    Hi all,

Had my floor screeded and fitted the other day but just want to check if this is normal?

Some of the joins look fairly large.

Some planks at the end of the joins are loose, I can press them down and they press down, it’s like the small section of plank near the join is not glued to the screed!

the fitter did say it was hard to get the glue to go off as the house was very cold. He put the heater on but property has singled glazing. I guess he could have brang a blow heater if it was that cold!

    I have attached some pics.

this is the same company that put the wrong underlay in and didn’t tell me so I’m wondering if it’s just cowboys!

any advice if the pics of the joins and a few tiles already loose by the joins would be helpful.

is it shoddy workmanship or is it normal to have joins like this etc!

    thanks!!

House should have been warm enough before laying any LVT, big risk doing it in the cold especially the temps we seeing that last couple weeks.

Looks like some of the rows need pulling up and pulling back bit need some heat in there first.

what shall I do? Leave it or ask to re do it?

The heater was on - maybe he didn’t let the house warm up?

Cant just switch a heater on an hr before, house needs to be warmer.
You need to ask the fitter to come back and pull up rows/planks and restick.

I take it you have central heating?
Stick it on for him you tight git :D

You should have to house a min 18-20 degrees for full 72 hours before fitting. Cant blame the fitter always, looking at pics some need adjusting possibly but I'd be inclined to charge you for redoing personally. LVT needs ideal conditions for fitting.

    thanks Jason,

surely the fitter should have told me that it’s more warm enough. He told me to put it on a hour before!

if he would have told me we could have re arranged it for a day when I could have got the house up to temperature

What adhesive did he use. If PS type it will have gone off in places. He should of used high temp and put the planks in semi wet and rolled it all.
