Hi guys I could see a good few karndean fitting threads. I came here with the same questions as my Karndean Opus has also developed gaps post install.
Would like to know your opinion whether these gaps are at an acceptable level and whether I should raise anything with the fitter.
    Pictures to follow

Having issues uploading photos. Images are too big and I can't post links to img hosting.

Can you confirm a few things first….
What type if subfloor do you have wood/solid.
Is there any form of underfloor heating.
Was the opus brought in and acclimatised prior to install.
Did they use a wet set adhesive or pressure sensitive (glued most of floor before laying)
Did you have heating on to get room to 18-24 degrees

    - Wood subfloor (this was an upstairs bathroom)
    - No UFH
    - Opus acclimatised for a week elsewhere in the house roughly similar temp
    - Adhesive used was the supplier recommended Karndean Epoxy A+B.
    - Room was at about 18 deg

I'd also like to know if I should be concerned with it being in the shower room, obviously good amount of steam forming in the colder season. Will the gaps allow water to seep in, is there any way to prevent that?
Also can it be wet/damp-mopped safely in this condition?

Has a floorlayer fitted round that radiator pipe :(, lazy cut and filled with silicone.
In terms of moisture, I’ve never used epoxy in a bathroom in 15 years just ht acrylic and not had any problems unless there has been a leak from pipes.
Karndean is essentially pvc so splashproof, can be mopped as normal but not saturated, if you have pools of water mop them up, it’s not a wetroom floor.
In terms of the gaps, in opus the tiles have a micro bevel and then the strip butts up.
I must admit sometimes the cut on the edge is a bit poor from the factory so I just take the edge off.
It’s not the worst I’ve seen but looking at how it’s been finished on the edges isn’t the greatest install

Terrible tiles. Even fitted on epoxy glue the stripping could be shrinking as they are usually poor quality or the tiles could of been like that to start. Could be wrong size grout strips?
Epoxy glue should stop moisture failing it. You could get some epoxy grout from moduleo or Mapie and fill the gaps. Just make sure you properly clean the residue off

Is that the floor he ripped out ready for the new karndean?....can we see pics of the new floor o_O
...looks abit grubby, could have wiped it down when he'd finish and took his pubes with him as well :D

Joking aside, can't really tell from the pics but is that grout strip the right depth?

Loving the radiator pipe bespoke fit...pure laziness that is. It's not the best and seen worse but I wouldn't be happy with that, especially the tube of silicon behind that pipe

We've had a few issues with the grout when it comes to Opus in the last couple of years... Being sent and packaged as the wrong height, or it being proud due to manufacture issues. Only with the Chalk though.

I've got some rubber backed 2m wide bathroom carpet going for £5.99/m2... Plasticiser migration would be the least of their worries.
