Hi all Looking at getting some LVT fitted - looked at all the major brands but struggling to find a colour we like at the right price which is specifically to be laid in herringbone. It's been suggested that we could just get standard size planks (48" x 7.25") laid in a herringbone pattern, just worried it might look a bit rubbish as it will be pretty big. Anyone done this before and how did it look? Thanks in advance.
I did a similar size plank in herringbone throughout the second and third floor of a house, the rooms were average size and the landings were quite small, but it actually looked better than i was expecting
If you are really considering it, i'd say buy one box and lay them out in the room first, it will give you a good idea of how it will look, before commit to spend a lot of money
Massive planks they are (amtico xtra?), will need a good wide sized area for it to work in my opinion. Done a karndean 36 x 6 tile in a 35m2 open plan kitchen that looked alright but not to my taste. I prefer the traditional 3 x 9 and 4 x 18
Someone will probably correct me on this, but i'm pretty sure that won't work "properly" as the length of the plank isn't perfectly divisible by the width. So it would run out across the room?
...especially if there's a standard size with hallway Just means if there is then you'd need to start central and hope for the best where it falls in the other rooms...
Alright mate you still working round Liverpool? I am in WN8 and looking to get a price. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
