Have green (not waffle and don’t know brand) rubber underlay down for ten years which hasn’t flattened in a bedroom which has a shower room attached for my disabled son; the carpet needs changed but should I change underlay and to what type? Need something not too firm.

Just found a logo saying floorwise on a website the green underlay states Pinnacle 8mm but the picture of the roll states 10mm can anyone help with the depth and where I can source some; I’m near glasgow. Thanks

Have a look at Treadaire ambiance 9mm. We use it as our main go to.

Thanks. Should I lift what’s there or ask carpet fitter before I buy more as it still looks fine or does underlay always need changed? Sorry for asking more questions.

Does your son use a wheelchair? If so, a firmer underlay may be better, firstly to make it easier for the wheelchair to roll over, secondly to reduce the amount of stretch on the carpet as the wheels sink into the underlay

I would suggest changing the underlay 10 years is a long time.
