    Hi all

Looking for some advide 5 months ago i had LVT fitted in my living room. Comapany said floor was ok to layed on as long as it was screeded twice. Now the screed has blown so i called the company to repair the floor. The fitter (diffrent from first time) removes broken screed but says we have magniste floors which shouldnt have been screeded over.

What can i do? Is this my fault or the fitter/company? The company said they will fix it with extra charge. But isnt the screed constantly going to blow if the magniste floor cant breathe.

You were lucky to get 5 months before it blew. The ones I’ve seen go much quicker

All gotta come out. Nothing bonds to it. Better off with a floated laminate floor, engineered wood or carpet.

is it red or green? If so it’s a pretty good warning sign not to screed over and attempt to install LVT

Magnesite subfloors should really be removed and a new screed put down. Check it hasn’t got asbestos in first.

It’s the company’s fault. They shouldn’t of screeded over it
