I am laying straight lay Polyflor Virginia walnut in my upstairs landing. Can anyone help me with how this should end against the spindles around the stairs. In a previous house, the fitter fixed a gold edging trim but the ply was visible from the other side (when u walked down the stairs).

Can someone suggest a way to finish this nicely ?

Stairrods do some nice matwell ramps that may work, or if you’ve got the time cut around the spindles and finish with a nosing on the other side

If you set out so the tile edge falls half way across the spindle it would make life a lot easier to cut around them

Sorry I can’t seem to post pictures but what was done before was to end the ply and LVT in a line where the landing floor meets the spindles. I didnt mean I would lay LVT around them. It would be finished in a straight line at the spindles, with a drop of about 12mm (ply and LVT) where the spindles fix to the floor. This is what I intend to do so I need some sort oc edging bar….

It would look miles better cutting around them.
