I’ve laid a fair bit of Karndean tiles and they’ve been very stable and long lasting.

A couple of years ago I laid some LVT planks in our small bathroom, used 9mm WBP ply with F-Ball primer and Karndean pressure sensitive adhesive as I always have. The planks were in the room for at least a week prior to laying. After a few months, the planks started to have a small gap between the ends <1mm.

I’m about to lay the same planks in our new kitchen (probably in a herringbone pattern) and am worried that I’ll get the same gaps and it’ll spoil the job.

Is there something I’m doing wrong in my method, or something I should to to minimise any gaps.

I have seen a few others mention these gaps (shrinkage I guess) in Karndean, so wonder if it’s a product issue..?

    Any advice very welcome.

No, it’s a bathroom with no windows, no UFH and the floor space is only 2m x 1.5m. The building is 1850s and very stable and settled.

I was reading that the Karndean adhesives weren’t brilliant and to use something like F Ball F44, does that sound right..?

    No
Karndean HT adhesive is Uzin KE66 which is great. Fball F48 plus is what we use.

Pressure sensative is naff. Small herringbone planks shouldn’t gap but the larger planks tend to
