Developer has changed LVT options from Creation 55 to Colonia. What can I ask for as a compromise?

    Hi,

I'm moving into a house and as part of the deal they offered to put in Gerflor Creation 55 into the living room, kitchen, hallway, bathroom. They've now changed this to Polyflor Colonia.

As far as I can tell (but this is way out of my area of expertise) the Colonia isn't a particularly well-regarded product? And at 0.2mm wear layer vs the 0.55mm of Creation 55, is also, on paper, worse?

Since they are saying they can no longer get the Creation 55, is there an equivalent product in terms of quality and price I could potentially ask for instead of settling for Colonia? I guess it might be easier if it's within Polyflor (if it's a case of the developer has changed supplier).

    Any advice appreciated!

Defo not Colonia. That’s one of the cheapest LVTs on the market. you want a .55mm wear layer

    Harvey Maria
    J2 , which is a good price

J2 is a good compromise. Cheap and very hard wearing. Colonia is only good for bathrooms

Just wanted to say thanks to both of you for your responses. Helped give me a bit of confidence that I wasn't being unreasonable in not wanting to settle for Colonia. Hopefully all resolved now :)
