I'm struggling to get this stiff loop to lock on to the grippers. Grippers are flush with underlay.
I think it's because the carpet is loop pile and really stiff, struggling to get it to fold so won't stay on the gripper

    Any tips?

Yeah, get some better gripper rods. We prefer diamond gripper. Try creasing the backing, folding it to break it. Also crease it on to the gripper. If your still struggling you could
    Stick it down

Gripper spacing looks massive aswell for that carpet

I’ve also found with some carpets a double bank of grippers can help massively to get a good hold. Especially with lower quality gripper.

Heat the carpet first. Whilst it’s rolled up place a small Argos style Heater on the one end. It works every time. Much more supple, softens the latex in the backing. Lots of modern carpet manufacturers don’t know how to manufacture properly, fact.
