Hi all, I need approx 137sqm if carpets fitted in south wales. I’m trying to keep this to 30-35sqm for supply, fit, underlay, and grippers. I’ve narrowed it down to Lano soft distinction or Cormar Zenith and can get either of these with a cloud 9 sirrus underlay in budget. Any thoughts on which is best and most resistant to flattening? The house has been freshly painted so I am a bit concerned about the backing of the carpets damaging the walls. I’ve looked at Abingdon and furlong flooring with fleece backing but these don’t seem to be quite as nice as the cormar and Lano.
They're pretty much the same stuff, made from the same material. I'd be expecting them to perform in a very similar way.
Thanks for your reply. Would you recommend any carpets in a similar price bracket that have a softer backing that would be less likely to damage the paintwork?
I wouldn't really, when you're looking at polypropylene carpets I don't think there's much in them. Thicker ones will show the flattening more but as long as you don't go super cheap I'd be expecting them to last roughly similar times. I'm not the last word in here though, as a few of the posters do recommend different brands.
I’m sorry for the late response, I didn’t get an email notification. I’m doing bedrooms and 2 flights of stairs. Was planning on using the same carpet throughout. Ground floor is solid wood so staying as it is. My wife is pretty set on polypropylene for the bleach cleanable properties. No pets and shoes are not worn in the house but we’ve got two young kids What are your thoughts?
Thanks, yes it’s very easy as a customer to over think these decisions when there are so many options
