HI I am redoing my floor in my outbuilding, as you can see from the image, there isa concrete base with timber joists above, after 5 years of heavy rain etc, the concrete floor is still moisture- less. I had some water leak in from above the floorboards and the mould set in and rotted the floorboards. I also found that the previous builders did not put any insulation in between the joists So, I was thinking, laying a breathable membrane on and in between the joists, and then placing insultation on the membrane (that will be in between the joists), then can i put a damp proof membrane over the insulation, and then floor boards? Is this a bit overkill?
