Hi recently I’ve had a looped carpet fitted. After the installations I’ve found no ends of issues.
    1) scratched all my skirting board when used his chisel
    2) the loops has started coming out of the pile on the edge of the stairs and in other places
    3) the carpet is baggy and looks like he’s not cut it to the right length
    4) carpet around the a step was put in wrong
    5) the pile on the carpet has burst ( this could be manufacturing not the fitter)

The carpet fitter was old and so you assume he’s experienced the carpet shop if a well known place with good reviews. The over all finish of the job just seems off and not right. I know I’m no carpet fitter however you know when see a bad job.

The fitter has come round to day to have a look and correct his mistakes but the edge on the stairs and the baggyness was put down to the carpet not him fitting it wrong.

    Please help

Do you mean 30m2 and you paid him £130 to do it. Was it a big landing as that’s a lot of carpet.

Can you post pic of the landing and stairs. Just trying to work out the price , as my fitter charges more for a loop as he grippers all the sides for a better fit. Most times a 4m x 4m ish side carpet it’s £200-£250 labour

It’s not the best fitting!!!! Looks like he’s cut the stairs what we call nett and not allowed up to the next loop where it widens on the step.
£130 fitting on £1300 of carpet is on the cheap side….. some folk in my area would pay £90 for a stair install some would pay £250 all depends on the shop and fitters.
But I agree with daz, for a 4x4 stairs and landing in a good loop fit well £200-250 is a good price so I’d say it’s the fitters fault….. go back to shop and get it sorted
