I’m about to lay a laminate flooring. The customer hates beading but the instructions say to leave an 8-10mm expansion gap. In the past I’ve laid flooring with a :2/3 mm gap and filled it with sealant to match with the flooring and had no issues 5 years on.
Any advice as to why some flooring buckles and some stays perfectly flat??

    living conditions
    Quality of the laminate

If you don't want scotia pop skirts off first, use an L bar end stop around the perimeter or if you going to mastic use a 8mm wide foam strip in the expansion gap and mastic on top just like quickstep hydro seal system reccomends

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I can’t pop the skirting off as it would damage the walls but I may opt for the foam strip. Where can I get the foam strip?

Depending on how much you need B&Q sell it. If your going to use it often you can buy large rolls just by goggling foam expansion strips
