    Had to plywood/gripper and underlay a landing today for the guy fitting the carpets tomorrow so i decided to get a few picks on my phone

    When are you fitting the bloody carpet, ..... hang on ita a hsl, you cut the bugger up wrong didnt you? :lol:

    really good work round the awkward doors but whys the underlay not going the same way.. the guys av worked with think am mad but its something i just like!! keep the 9s the same where possible... :lol:

    The reason you run the underlay a different directions is so you keep the same leeding edge running together.

    Underlay maybe 9.5mm thick one side and maybe 7.5mm the other side. If you turn the underlay so the same edge meets the same edge then you wont get any lip or height/softness feel between the two sides

    Thats a good tip!!!! I shall remember that when people complain the underlay is wrong.

    good return that.. i never thought of that but surely the customer would have to have the most sensitive feet in the world to spot that lol.. but valid point...

    Belive me, some people do notice. Some underlays do state on a bit of paper in the bags. (cloud 9 do)

    Its also the standards.

    in theory its a no win situation cos as you roll down the length of the room the only bit the same is the very start where they meet edge to edge... and surely if there were to be questions asked you could lift the carpet and have the underlay running the same way which surely looks more proffesional..!?! :D :lol: :D
