Having just won a CCJ against a carpet shop for failing to pay an invoice of £1200 which has now cost him £2700 all collected I might add. I woundered how many fitters have gone down this road to get paid? On this one I knew the fitter contracted to do this job, He was not paid (£2500) December 2008 but felt he could not afford to take this person to court, although he appeared as a witness for me. Maybe as CCJ are a mater of public record they could be named and shamed so as other fitters know not to work for them?
If doing contract work I am able to credit check companies to see if they have any ccj's against there company.....Also if they don't pay in the agreed time I can get a solicator to issue a letter on my behalf who then will contact a debt recovery agency who then will try and recieve the money owed. Haven't yet needed to use this.... Only costs £10 a month through my bank...
is that a suggestion mate? The only problem i see is that if we have a rouge traders section we may have people list good companys to put them down for no reason. I cant see any reason why you cant add this to your personal section you have tho. However, it will have to be locked so only you can post in there for certain reasons!
