Hi folks I have a big job coming up which will require me to grind the floor to get the paint off before skimming. So i was wondering if anyone had a floor grinder for sale? Anything considered. Have any of you lot come across a similar job and what did you do? I parts the paint is stuck solid but in others its really bad. Cheers Hippyfitter
you can hire one from janser etc. What you fitting? What is the area going to be used for? What is the size of the area? Whats the reason for skimming the floor? uneven or as a barrier to protect etc? How you keeping anyway mate?
Im good cheers mate Just getting over a really bad cold/flu,Its had me bed ridden. -The flooring will be polysafe sheet -The area is a very busy fishing tackle shop -The over all size is around 15mx12m -The floor is really uneven. I do quite alot of this sort of work thats why i was thinking if buying some sort of grinder, but they arnt cheap to say the least! Hippyfitter
i was going to suggest another method of install if the subfloor was even, however! You have a victor upright sanding/polishing thingy tool dont you? Janser sell the grinding heads for these, you get a discount if you mention this forum and ask for "joe" (may need to mention my name also, matt bourne) Also rugrat on here might be able to get the heads at a good price for you (rws flooring supplies) find them in the trade section for details. There is also a paint stripper (liquid) that can be used made by bostic i think. Failing that i have a head that will fit the victor machine that you can borrow but its a steel brush type head that is only good for loose paint. Hope that helps?
