I've got timber floor in the kitchen, just varnished floorboards, lots of gaps and totally freezing! As we will be ripping the lot out, need to decide what to put down. I say vinyl, hubby says tiles. I say - vinyl easier to clean (no scrubbing grout with a toothbrush), warmer under feet, my wine glass will not break if I drop it, will not crack when the washer does it's 1600 p/m spin and jumps all over. And it looks easier to put down. He says - everybody goes for tiles and his pushbike will not scratch them (here we go to my point no. 1 re cleaning etc.). We budget around £20-25 per sq. m. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
why not compromise and go for karndean/amtico vinyl tiles you get the practicality of vinyl and the look of tiles
as mod2 has adviced. However with your budget i think your only option is to go for vinyl sheet. Karndean and cermaics will cost double your budget after floor preps etc.
Agree with the above post. To have karndean professionally installed / supplied etc will cost double your price range. For what your looking at paying i would def reccomend sheet vinyl, maybe rhinofloor elite range, hard wearing 15yr odd guarantee also.. And its easier to fit, use, clean etc lol :lol:
