whos product do you prefer fitting? with solids etc do you prefer to glue/nail them down or floating methods?
i love fitting products from a company called v4 there products are always top quality and i prefer floating floors
are these solids, laminate, engineered? you float solids? pva glue or on a sticky underlay system like elastilon?
So whats preferred float or stickdown?.Is one easier than the other? and which is the best moneywise to the fitter?.
Thats a hard one to answer. Each method is used for different products. For instance- both methods could be a glue together or maybe a lock system of a floating tacky underlay system. The underlay system is fine in large areas but not a nice product to use in a small area like a hallway. Lock systems are pretty much the same as above. Glue together are nice to install in small areas but a pain in large areas. Also you should only float solids if there on a tacky underlay or a lock system. Never a Full PVA system. Then there is glue down or nail. Again both can be a pain. Glue is better in a small area and nail/staple etc is better in a large area.
I've never nailed a solid so i always glue - i worry that i'll nail through a pipe or that it might squeak. Don't have a preferred solid or engineered really, often comes down to price and getting a good value product as customers are usually shocked when i give them a price
