Just got back from the tool show and I got a pack of Straight edge blades, I require 4 people to test this blade for me, its a Blade from the USA called rapid edge. the edge of the blade is serrated differant to anything I have seen here, but they are very expensive. So I would like four people who will give me an honest apprasilal of these blade unfortunatly I only have five, one each for the testers and one for my referance. If you are interested in having a go please PM me your address and I shall chose the first four, but I need your oppinion as fitters as to how good or bad they are. Or if they are not worth bothering with if, they cut cleaner, anything you feel is relevent and fair. regards Rugrat
Sorry the photo is too big need editing first blades have gone out to the testers in the post so we should hear soon regards Rugrat
i don't mind paying aslong as they perform ... i just don't like buying stuff that won't perform .. i noticed with the heavy duty straight blades .. if the blades come in those sealed celophane wrappers there crap, but the ones that are wrapped in the paper seem to last twice aslong, yet there both supposed to come from the same factory :?
i've found the best ones are those that now come in the plastic boxes, either blue or yellow, and blades are wrapped in the brown paper ...
Tried and tested the new straight blade.Must say its the nuts.Obviously it depends on cost for these as against std straights.Wouldnt mind trying it on LVT.Thanks to Rugrat for letting me be one of your robots on this.I think the blade is gonna last me a while.Yanks have done it again.
I used to like chips in paper. They last longer than in plastic cartons, mind you you got more in them days hence lasting longer.
I have to agree with bladerunner, very good blades, but again it all depends on cost, but again the problem will be that still most fitters scribe in with the back of the knife and cut from the front so will even knacker the new blade, so I reckon for the guys who want to pay for quality get some boxs in however the carpetshite type lads will still want the cheapest of the cheap, I'll get you a price that some lads are. Paying down here in Derbyshire... A big long box, about 9 inchs, between ten and fifteen quid, so that's what your upagainst Steve. I'm led to believe there's 500 in a box.
