So i was thinking ? shall i stitch the bullnose...?.,,?mm? nope i chickened out and cape and band instead lol. .
ummm um ...... you wouldn't know him mate. LOL. I did have my old man working with me today tho. He originaly was assessed for his "NICF master fitter" on this job 20-25 years ago. So i made him remove the old carpet with 5000 gimp pins holding it on lol. What a mission it must of been back then with no electric stapler etc.
Lovely stuff matt! The bottom two steps on my staircase are similar - except the bottom one doesn't wrap all the way around like it does on this one. One thing i've always wondered is the best way to do the internal corners like you have in the right hand corner of your picture? I always seem to end up with a couple of little triangular bits under the top of the step that need filling in if you get what i mean.
there are a few ways. 1- the triangle in the corner 2- Add a section of carpet approx 6"x6" and sew into the top of the step 3- a full join accross. On this job there is a join startin at the back of the bullnose that runs to the corner of that step. Number 3 looks the the best if your good at joins. BUT not practicle on most landings/stairs due to the wear you get. However on this job you wont walk on the join.
Some of those triangle crisps "DELTAS"they will fill in on the bullnose perfectly colourwise as well. They have got holes in for the pins ynaw.
