Carpet fitter or Floorlayer

how would you refer to yourself as a carpet fitter or a floorlayer and what do you feel is the biggest differance :roll:

id say floor layer / fitter as i do all flooring mainly.carpet fitters are mainly for fitting just carpet like wood floor fitters etc!!

 

A Floorlayers is fitting a carpets, vinyl, and timber or laminate flooring. So the job description is wider area that the carpet fitters. The carpet fitters are obviously fits commonly a carpet and I am also a carpet fitter.

I can do carpet, domestic vinyl, plyboard, seagrass/sisal and I did my first laminate job recently so I can do that to a very basic level at the minute lol. I would call myself a carpet fitter. when I can screed, do real wood, LVT's and commercial vinyl then I will call myself a floorlayer!
