I have been asked to fit engineered wood 14mm thick on a site. There are 12 rooms that have concrete subfloor, so the floor will be glued down, Six of the rooms have attics, that will be the bedroom the floor is two layers of 3cm plywood, what’s your opinion is better to stick wood to plywood or use a good underlay? What is the best for noise reduction?
So, what type of underfloor have those 6 rooms??? You're not very clear on that matter I'm afraid. Do they have original floorboards, rubbish T&G chipboard??
as you gluing down the flooring in 1 area i would glue down in all the areas. Make sure you put down plywood first if you have floorboards or chipboard.
The underfloor on the attics is 2 layers of good quality 3cm OSB floorboard on top of metal constuction that is very good fitted and leveled. Anyway, I will go on gluing everything. Thank’s
last time I have used Uzin Mk-97, very good product but you must be very careful working with it, make stains on the floor that cannot be removed!! The producer of the product suggest Sikabond T-52, never used it.
