aryt boys! ive been on this forum for a few months but never noticed this "introduce yourself" well ive been working for a company in aberdenshire for the last 4 and a half years, at 1st i wasn't that interested(it got me money for the weekend basically) but i have to say over the last 2 years ive really got interested, the best part has 2 be completeing a job and getting the customers satisfied, especially with the likes of a karndean floor, ive recently bought quite a few tools off RWS and really impressed with them ps i lay karndean flooring for my company but they have never put me on a single course, basically watch the guy who does lay for us and learn, isnt there something with karndean if there is a fault with the product when layed that if the fitter isnt an approved karndean fitter, theres no comeback?
Alright fella.. Im not that far from yur neck of the woods lol No, as long as you install the flooring to karndeans specs then there isnt a problem Basically follow 'every' procedure regarding sub floor prep etc  and you are safe
oh cool where u from? thats ok then, just another guy at work heard someone tell him that unfortunately im bedded today. honestly my knees are in agony :-\
Hi Cristiano, the "approved fitter" thing is only if the customer asks if you are an accredited and certificated person.Karndean want everyone to go on the course because they (karndean) make money due to the costing for layers to go on the courses, and also the more fitters out there it creates more interest, especially with the labour rates for LVT being as lucrative as they are.But if you are like Ted then he is too long in the tooth to do this kind of work .
My missus has an aunty in Dingwall. She once owned a shop it was a woolshop, what a wonderful part of the British isles it is up there and especially the salmon ladder at Pitlochry absolutely brill.
i work 8-5 for my company sometimes overtime if i have 2, i get paid 7.50 an hour for laying laminate, karndean, carpets, vinyl yay haha
since april 2006 haha thers a guy whos been there since...2002/2003, cant remember and hes on 7.90, loada bollocks
You are bad for trade if you work in that way im afraid, the asians would love your type to work for them, dont forget that they will have you in on sunday for fifteen quid an hour.
I suppose it depends on how many meters he puts down a day along with company van maybe + fuel and after tax?
there are 8 fitters in total in our company, 6 employed by the company and 2 self employed who are contracted to the company practically everyday, they both have their own vans, but can only hold 4 metre carpets so they get a shot of the company vans, which they arent insured to drive so get 1 of the other fitters, ie me 2 drive and help at jobs, yet they get 16-18 £ the hour, theres nothing up here at the moment(meanin jobs) so cant complain really
