Ok guys question for you, what method do you use to cut the carpet when joining carpets together plus what method do you think gets the best results? I will go first, row runners and loop pile cutter for twist piles, just loop pile cutter for loop pile and i just follow the lines down the backing on woven back carpets using a concave blade.

Depending on what carpet is depends on what i use.

Most of the time i use a invisiseamer

Im using a loop pile top cutter at the moment, works well on everything. Or just a straight edge through the back

I bought an invisiseamer years ago and didn,t get on with it, it,s still on my van though. I know you have to use a hook blade but i found the knife was dragging when cutting such a small sliver off, or am i doing something wrong?

Depending on which way you use it you can cut off a bigger 'sliver' :D

But yep, I know what you mean .Dont have the tool in front of me but from memory you can take out the guide and slide it onto the furthest away slot to cut off a bigger strip - does make it easier !

Interesting bit of kit. Bit of a dodgey name tho, or am I just being childish
Does it not cut through the underlay?

It is a strange name and it just skims the surface of the underlay.
