    Ok folks
You're on the job and need summit to eat etc etc
Wander up the street to nearest shop.
Your still wearing your dolphins in their holsters
Can you get done for carrying a weapon/s in a public place? :?:
Are they considered 'weapons' by dim & dimmer?
This hasnt happened to me i might add, but it is something i have thought about in the past. :geek:

as far as i understand its not illegal as its a tool for your trade and as long as your are on a job your o.k.

However if your out walking the dog or something it would be a different matter.

Quite correct an office would ask why you were carrying the knife but would have to accept that it is a legitamet tool for your work.

My stepson is serving with the Royal Highland Fusiliers in Afghanistan at the the moment and the tools of his trade are various pieces of heavy duty arms. I've now got this image of him wandering into Greggs with a .50 calibre heavy machine gun over his shoulder and asking for a pastie

I asked a police officer this on London underground and as long as they are a tool of your trade and you can prove this then its ok but you have to be at work or in between jobs IE on your way to another, he also said its best to remove the blade and store it in the knife.

they have to prove intent. I.E. possesion with intent.
if you have no good reason for such possesion the poice will claim intent, like closing time out side a pub you would have no reason to be wearing or holding a knife so you could be arrested.. the police can claim almost any thing as a weapon, try holding a pencil at them in a menecing way and see what happens

I got both my knives into number 10 yep priministers residence, everything had to pass through the scanner first and the female officer smiled and said that hooked shaped blade looks lethal I laughed and said it is look heres a couple of scars from over the years. She said you shouldn't really be carrying that around in a public place sir, I said I wouldn't have been if I could've parked my van right outside number 10 would I, she laughed and said remove the blade and stow it in the knife sir. And all that for a door mat.
