I know this sounds like i have a health problem but do any of you guys have trouble distinguishing which way the carpet goes when joining etc. I try dropping a coin flat on most, and you can feel the pile,or look on the edge to see which way it leans. There are some really difficult carpets however that are virtually immpossible to tell. Why can,t the maufacturers print an arrow on the backing and this will solve the problem, sorry to waffle on

I agree Ted some arrows would help or even stitching a tramline in red down one side say 1 foot in from the salvage edge.

rub your face up and down vinyl, youll be able to tell the rough from the smooth.

A rhetorical question is a figure of speech in the form of a question posed for its persuasive effect without the expectation of a reply, in layman terms you already know the answer and you're not expecting or wanting an answer.

One way to check the pile direction is a £5 / £10 quid note (whatever it dont matter) and place it on the carpet, then roll a pencil on the top gentle and the note should move in the direction of the pile.
